  1. This is not maximum pressure on Iran because the European Union and China have both said they will not go along with these Trump sanctions. They will honor the previous agreement. That is pretty much game over for these sanctions.

  2. You can't bring Iran to their knees. (a). Saudi Arab has already said they and OPEC will not increase their oil production to offset the daily per-barrel losses from Iran and Venezuela. Meaning, these Trump sanctions will drive up the price-per-barrel to over $100 per-barrel (b). The European Union and China alone have enough demand for oil, even with a discount from Iran, to give Iran record profits. (c). Oil at a price point of $90-per-barrel will wipe out all of the gains to our economy made by the tax breaks. Iran has the leverage as long as the European Union and China ignore the Trump sanctions, as they have both said they were going to do.

  13. First, the United States really doesn't import food. We grow and raise our own. Most of the Food that the United States does import is part of Trade Treaties to avoid tariffs on other exports. Second, The EU and China represent 90% of our Trading Partners. They will honor the previous Treaty with Iran and the United States will suffer from the increased Oil prices as a result. Here's why, Iran will not sell their Oil on the Open Market, they will exclusively sell to China and the EU, which will cripple the US economy because less Oil on the Open Market increases demand.

America doesn't have any shortage of poultry, dairy, beef, or any farm-grown or raised products. Having a very diverse population means we import foods from all over the world. We import certain foods from foreign countries because our population is diverse. There are a lot of immigrants here that import from their country of origin.
