Trump is an idiot. The American consumer pays tariffs, not China.

No. you might be unfamiliar with corporate economics. The exchange rate alone, $1 dollar=$6.86 Chinese Yuan, makes that cost prohibitive. So, Trump's entire no tariffs plan keeps the United States at a deep disadvantage. The minimum pay for a factory worker in the United States is $15 per-hour and the most they will pay a factory worker in China is $9 Yuan per-hour. That's $0.76 per-hour in the United States. American retailers and suppliers are getting their manufacturing for $0.76 cents per hour. America can't compete with that.

No, they won't because these are international corporations that won't have the same tariffs on similar goods sold in the European Union.

The United States is a shrinking part of the bottom line for large corporations.

The truth of the matter of manufacturing in China from manufacturing to buying in bulk to intermodal shipping to distribution warehouses, it only costs American Retailers and Suppliers $10 to $15 per-unit by the time it reaches the store shelf.

That's a pipedream, they will never manufacture in the United Staes ever again,. The corporate contingency is to move manufacturing to India. Walmart and Target started that process in 2016. It's the exchange rate. $1 dollar=$72.54 Rupees.

And Trump can't apply tariffs to every country we trade with. Congress can chage or suspend any and all Trade Teaties... and vote on then pass a new one without approval from a sitting president.

@billymandem1628 No, Trump didn't struck a trade deals with Mexico or the European Union... nothing is in writing. Those trade deals are contingent on the Congress signing off on them before December 1st. You do realize trade treaties are the exclusive Realm of the Congress because they include tariffs AKA taxes. So again, nothing has been signed into law.

@billymandem1628 Which part of $1 equals $80 Rupees in India don't you understand? You can try to deny it all you want but Walmart has moved some manufacturing from China to India and Mexico. Even that Carrier plant in Indiana that Trump was supposed to save with state and federal tax breaks, which they received both, that Carrier plant laid off over 600 workers and moved 70% of the production to Mexico. Just like Ford Motor Company, they moved production to Mexico after they receive federal tax breaks.

They could vote it down. But Congress won't consider it without Canada being included. There is a sunset on the Mexico portion negotiated by the outgoing Mexican president (Nieto), that's December 1st. The New President of Mexico (Obrador) said he will not negotiate a new NAFTA treaty if the U.S. fails to approve it by December 1st. He makes no secret that he hates Trump.

You do understand they will not move any manufacturing back to the United States from China or India. When they can have any product made in India or China and shipped to the U.S. for less than $10 per unit. These are corporations, not charities.

The Constitution gives Congress absolute power over Trade Treaties. Article 2 Section 2 Clause 1
