The Department of Justice appeal makes no difference the AT&T/Time Warner merge will be finalized. The Department of Justice's only argument is based on net neutrality, if the government cares that much about consumer protections they would reinstate net neutrality. This is why they lost the case in the first place. It makes no difference that these judges are liberal or not once they see the facts laid out that the government has the power to reinstate net neutrality they're going to dismiss the Department of Justices appeal.

The Department of Justice's entire complaint was "consumer protections", which was as written is a variation of Net Neutrality. The Judge dismissed the complaint because The Government can't have it both ways. The FCC removed Net Neutrality in December and then the DOJ files an Antitrust consumer protections complaint against AT&T/ Time Warner less than two months later? The FCC could reestablish net neutrality in less than a day, that's why the judge dismissed the DOJ complaint with extreme prejudice.

A price rise is par for the course after every merger. There is no way to avoid that. Especially when you pay 60 billion to acquire another corporation.

That is a done deal. Rupert Murdoch is the Majority shareholder (he has veto power) and has informed Comcast he is taking the Disney offer. Primarily because an all-cash offer is insane. Capital Gains is 12% whereas an all-cash offer will make the corporate tax liability almost 35%.

Since Disney is only acquiring 21st Century Fox assets and not Fox Entertainment as a whole their arn't any Antitrust concerns.
