  1. The costs of environmental damage and climate change will rapidly overwhelm the world if the use of fossil fuels is not curtailed promptly, and lead to its demise anyway. So, I suspect that the switch to renewable energy sources plus backup from nuclear power will come very soon, once business understands that there are huge profits to be made from this. There is plenty of space in the interior of China for solar panels, and I don't think China Inc. will be slow to exploit this opportunity to make money.
