@callowaysutton Families pay more than that in premiums alone, not even considering out of pocket costs. Apparently Prime is paying $24,000 a year in premiums. For an individual, the average premium is $8,435 per year, so a high-income, healthy, single young person who doesn't have pre-existing will be contributing more in the UK compared to the US. That American would have to spend something like $12,781 (premium + max out-of-pocket) for the whole plan year before the insurance company covers all further expenses.

Lol, was it one of their repos?

@GreyDeathVaccine It would seem you're riding the hype on a tech influencer's video

@funkijote Call systemic racism what it is. Call racism what it is. Conflating the terms is harmful. People are justifying the belief that “racism against white people doesn’t exist” because of that ignorance.

It's not wrong. These people deliberately seek out these positions. They infect orgs and rot them from the inside. This is just another example of talent being forced out.

They are definitely two different names for the same city

ChatGPT is not a replacement for reading docs. The training is usually outdated and it makes up properties and methods that don't exist.

In that case JavaScript and HTML are the most dangerous things to come out in a long time, because they let people make security mistakes if they don't know what theyre doing.

It's really quite hard to remove bias unless you do it blind. If skill is equal, the job is more likely to go to the one from an underrepresented demographic now.
1
We're past the point of "useless devs" finding employment, and this isn't useful enough to replace anyone. Even the proof-of-concept "vertical slices" studios use need to be playable.

Is Prime's chat mostly farmers or something? I thought chat was mostly unemployed.
1
It’s not, not in terms of actual results.

@elcapitan6126 Orgs are becoming majority Indian now. The only "overrepresented" group people care about is white men.

Bjarne is very sad because he can't brag about C++ running in space anymore.

Who do you think makes those platforms?

Software engineers are paid slightly above average in Europe and Japan for some reason, whereas in the US you can be doing double the average salary without even being senior level.

@SkylearJ I really hope you're not in SWE with that attitude

Sometimes I see some Yandev-tier code behind Jblow when he’s dishing out these hot takes

@username7763 It's sweatshopification. They can exploit Indian workers who think they're on the next plane out if they're fired. But Indians are very much exploiting the system as well.

@hydrogenmacro Not anymore

I challenge you to learn English

They’re always selling something. Assuming this is real (a stretch) and ignoring the cost of living in Germany vs Pakistan, I at least agree that ML tools can make you more productive. I still wouldn’t trust the quality of Hamid’s solution. This “ship as fast as possible” idea sounds dangerous when leaning so heavily on Copilot and GPT.

In East Asian cultures red is more positive than green. You'll see their stock tickers have red for increase and green for decrease. That's a useless tidbit though I'm pretty sure the tierlist template just goes ROYGBIV.

@dioneto6855 Seemingly another greed move- if I remember correctly Boeing had built redundant sensors for military planes with the MCAS.

China will utterly surpass us very soon

As of February, there are over 2 billion active Apple devices. Almost all iOS devices, which can only run Webkit

That article was grade A YAP. Adorno????

They’ve redefined racism to conflate it with “systemic racism”. Thus if a group is underrepresented, favoring them is somehow virtuous instead of just racial discrimination. It’s extremely lazy and harmful.

Babel and Babylon are literally the same place and existed continuously for thousands of years 🤓

US trains are from a time before computers. They must be reliable to survive so long.
