  21. I don't see the "white people need to steal black music to fill the void that whiteness creates" at all. Sounds like lofty cultural critic babble and not how people are, and definitely not artists. People will always participate in and take influence from culture around them, even though racial boundaries can prevent that cross-pollination from occurring. There's tons of influence from "white music" that came from Europe in the "black music" that sprung up in America. Africans were kidnapped and brought to a place where they were surrounded by the influence of European culture but they weren't allowed to participate in it, so they melded it with their own traditions.
