Saying "No" to them makes them want you if there's even a slight interest on their part. They will work extra hard to earn your approval if only to be an ego boost for them. Standing up for yourself, putting them in their place, treating them like crap, etc. has an amazing effect on them. It sucks that's how you have to treat them but that's the way their brains are wired.
