  1. The existing electrical grid cannot handle the load if everyone drove an electric car/truck. I'd guess it will take several hundred billion dollars- and close to a trillion dollars on the high end of that guess - to upgrade the grid nationwide to make this EV thing feasible. Recharging needs to be comparable to filling up a gas tank, range needs to be in the 400-500 mile ballpark, and insurance needs to be comparable to regular cars & trucks.
