  1. A very similar situation arose with computer chips. The overseas manufacturers have the overwhelming chip making capacity and the US had, well, shortages. Presently the effort is on the way to recover the chip production domestically. Well, it looks like Biden slept at the switch with automating US ports as he was busy sending DOJ and FBI after his one political rival Trump. Even now Biden is talking about sending arms to Ukraine. Biden may as well sit at his computer and play world-at-war computer games.
