  1. There are many Europeans, like me, who would be happy if NATO was disbanded. Europe needs to be able to defend itself without "help" from the USA, because "help" from the USA means the USA treat European countries like colonies/ vassal States. Us Europeans need to be indipendent from the USA. We have different interests, values, etc. My country (Italy), for example, has no interest in a war with Russia. Italy and Russia love each others. We have not only economic interests in being partners, but there is a deep respect/love between the Italian people and the Russian people. It goes across the political spectrum too. From ex communists to the far right. We also have interests in MENA countries, and in fact Italian governments up until the late 80s were quite pro-Arab (and pro-Palestine). So, NATO is not doing us any favour.
