That is also because the USA spend all their money on the military. We have free healthcare in Europe, no one is going bankrupt because of that. Vote for antiwar candidates in november.

@davidmorgan6896 I think Americans are finding out they have been given a bad deal in their country, based on the number of Americans (especially older people and families) moving to European countries like Italy, Spain, Portugal etc in the last few years. I find funny, but also sad, that poor Italians, especially from the South, used to emigrate to the USA for a better life, especially in late 1800 and early 1900, and now Americans are moving to Italy because we have better living standards, one of the best healthcare systems in the world (a public, mostly free one, but also a private one if you prefer), better schools (again, public ones that are free, or private ones if you choose to pay), better and cheaper food etc. They are also running away from Trump. I asked them why they do not fear Meloni, and, to Americans, Meloni is basically a moderate conservative compared to Trump. They also move to Europe because it is a much safer place than the USA. No public shootings here. No school shootings ever in the history of Italy. The USA has really become a hellhole.

@davidmorgan6896 Meloni IS though cutting public health funds and privatizing everything she can 😞 to American capital mostly. And no, they would never campaign for weapons, one reason is, they want the monopoly of the use of force. Our police forces are being militarized, we already have hundreds of episodes of police brutality (remember Genoa G8 in 2001?). They act with impunity. It's a very dark period in Italian history. We remember Anni di Piombo (Years of Lead) very well. Many of us think that's where this country is going.

@Anuchan yeah I know. In the USA the military complex has more power than anyone. It's sick. In Europe we learned after WWII that wars are a bad idea. But Americans never had war on their land (after the Civil War), so they have no idea. They think they can destroy other countries with no repercussion. But I am afraid that will change in the future. The USA has been making enemies for decades. Even among their "allies". In Europe, for example, there is alot of anti-American, anti-Nato talk rn, even in political parties. A lot of us do not want American military bases in our countries. Americans need to understand that their country has done damage all over the world, that people all over the world think the USA is the biggest threat to world peace, and if they keep on bullying every other country, it will be WW3. Many of us think WW3 has already started.

@davidmorgan6896 Meloni's pro-natalist politics so far have been giving longer paid maternity and paternity leaves, building public daycare centers, and giving women more opportunities to have both a job AND a family (rn they can not have both). It's all good obviously but I do not think it will make Italians have more children. Why? Because we can see the future and it's very dark. Why bring children in a country, in a world actually, that gets worse every day? We have no hope left. Young educated Italians are leaving the country, hundreds of thousands of them. They have no future here.

@davidmorgan6896 I do not think it's "random". They target specific words and issues. They just do not tell you WHAT words and issues. Sometimes you can just change the spelling and the "forbidden" words go thru. Obviously they should be transparent about this.

You got it all wrong. The EU has had projects for an European military for years, but the USA never let us do it. The USA doesn't want a strong, indipendent EU. Also, there is no American Empire without the hundreds of American and NATO bases all over Europe. Americans are the ones gaining from this relationship, not us Europeans. You guys dont even know your country works.
