  1. Banning guns is unconstitutional. Banning whole groups of people is constitutional. Anyone who wants the criminally violent, clinically insane, untrained, incompetent or unsupervised minors to have guns should be the first to have their guns taken away.

  3.  @wtice4632  No. That is what you are saying, not I. After a background check, I think everyone should take and pass a sanity test and a firearms safety course. Then also pass another test that proves competency in handling the specific firearm they want to buy. Then, they need to get a license for themselves and for every firearm they own. Then they need to prove their guns will be stored safely, so the wrong people do not gain access to them. Finally, they need to take out liability insurance. Now THAT is well regulated, which is constitutional according to the first half of 2A.

SC Chief Justice Scalia agrees in the Heller case. Certain groups of people can be constitutionally denied the right to keep and bear arms, including the criminally violent, the clinically insane, the untrained, the incompetent, the drunk and drugged, as well as unsupervised minors, to say the least. This goes far beyond background checks. This is how we end the gun violence and still get to own hundreds of millions of firearms. Everyone is held accountable. No one should be compelled to serve in the military. There is no good service in war. It is a complete waste from every perspective. Instead, people should get paid to work in community nonprofit organizations around every major issue, and help to make thing better for everyone and bring prosperity to the community.

  6. Actually, the underlying cause of gun violence in the US is lax gun control laws that allow the wrong people to gain access to guns. Gun laws work in every other modern country, and they can work in the US as well. They don't ban guns. They ban the people who should not have guns.
