  1. I remember when the Capitol Police Chief was complaining a month before 1/6 to the media that his requests for additional police were systematically being shot down. This continued even on 1/6 when it was apparent that the police on duty needed a lot more help. Even the Pentagon turned down his request for National Guardsmen. No one would have entered the Capitol if there had been enough police. But instead, the Police Chief was scapegoated and fired.
