Fascism, which is the merging of government and industry, always leads to a dictatorship and/or totalitarianism. Communism, which is government ownership of everything, can to lead to totalitarianism, but not necessarily always. When the people, and not just a few elites, are in charge, that leads to people led democratic socialism. Of course, neither fascism nor communism have much to do with old noble classes living in castles. That would be feudalism and monarchism.
