  6. WRONG! Do you gun nuts ever remember the "well regulated" part, which holds everyone accountable who wants to keep and bear arms? By the way, the passage is actually, "...necessary for THE SECURITY OF a free state..." The state will have no security if no one is well regulated. So you can't even get that part of 2A correct. You are probably incompetent, which means you probably should not be allowed to come close to a firearm.

Of course, the well regulated phase is the reason why we have hundreds of constitutional gun laws on the local, state and national level within the US. One must be well regulated first, before one is legally entitled to keep and bear arms. Otherwise, even prisoners, the criminally violent and the clinically insane would have a constitutional right to keep and bear arms.

  8.  @WaldenLifeInTheWoods  When 2A was written, the word 'militia' was every able-bodied man and woman who could competently operate a firearm and take orders from a military leader. In today's world, it applies to every citizen who wants to keep and bear arms. Everyone must be well regulated first, before they can legally keep and bear arms. That is why background checks, required training, required licensing, etc. are all constitutional.

If the phrase, 'well regulated militia,' does not refer to civilians, then how do you explain long-standing constitutional gun laws throughout the US on the federal, state and local levels?
