Both wind and solar are far more predictable than fossil fuel plants or nuke plants, which get shut down expectantly all the time for maintenance and safety reasons, not to mention unpredictable fuel supplies. Alternatives are also predictably cleaner, safer and cheaper than nuke and fossil fuel plants.
