DeSantis and the legislature must not have ever heard of the First Amendment right to Freedom of Assembly. The only requirement is that the assembly be peaceful. There are no requirements as to place, time, weather conditions, free speech zones, permits, or anything else. If some people try to cause trouble, the police are lawfully permitted to arrest them. They cannot declare everyone else guilty by association of the crime caused by a few. ACLU, do your job!

@playbassken There's nothing, not one single document or otherwise in our Constitution or laws that says protests are riots. There's nothing, not one single document or otherwise in our Constitution or laws that says everyone at a protest is responsible for the irresponsible actions of a few. Don't like it, change the First Amendment. Anyone is allowed to go there! Don't let the Constitution hit you in the you know where!

@playbassken The law is clearly unconstitutional. Similarly worded state laws have already been struck down by federal courts for being unconstitutional, and so will this one. By the way, your insults only insult yourself and prove you have no rational, relevant counter-argument.

@kenklein9120 It is an unreasonable, unconstitutional law with which to crush constitutionally protected protests. Like similar worded anti First Amendment state laws, this one will also be struck down by a federal court for being unconstitutional.

@playbassken You are falsely equating violence with protests. This law cuts up the First Amendment because it finds people guilty by association and criminalizes constitutionally protected protest. It will get hung out to dry by a federal judge, just like other anti-protest unconstitutional laws in other states. Don't know what Venezuela and socialism have to do with the First Amendment. I suggest you focus.
