  1. Haven’t these people ever heard of the power of suggestion? If some random bloke in a Belfast howff tells me he’s seen some ‘funny lights’ in the sky on the way home one night after a few swallies, the next clear evening (difficult, I grant you, in the cloud-ridden skies of N Ireland) I get I’m gonna be scanning those skies for something answering to my mate’s sighting (hallucination). And so, like a Chinese whisper that was wrong from the beginning, does this rumour spread like a virus in a crowded lift. Human beings are gullible. They also, much of the time, have no clue wtf. they are on about outwith a very small bandwidth of knowledge, and these facts have to be taken into consideration before any others when someone insouciantly tells me they’ve seen an inexplicable something (almost always a nebulous nothing) in the starry firmament.
