  1. I have been learning Spanish & French for many years ( it’s ALWAYS a work in progress) & for the native English-speaker the subjunctive is probably the main bane. However, with time & perseverance it happens: one day you wake up, return to the language & there is a new understanding of how to use this tricky mood. As we gave virtually ditched the subjunctive in spoken (and, indeed much of written English) it’s always going to be that bit harder for the native English-speaker.
