  1. To these British ears the Argentine accent sounds as if the speaker is slightly drunk & slurring his/her words. I had this issue with the Chilean lassie living in Cologne; she sounded like she’d had a couple of gins. She hadn’t, of course; just sounds that way. Whereas, for some reason the Mexican accent sounds as clear as a bell to these ears. It’s all a mystery but interesting nonetheless.
