5:45 ‘English adoption’?! Lol. Why are you expecting French people to en masse speak English? 😂 I can count on the fingers on one hand (unless they had a French parent or studied it at university) the number of Brits/Americans who can speak French! Yes, English is the current world lingua franca, I get that, but it’s mighty arrogant of native English speakers to bowl into France (or anywhere!) and automatically expect some kind of English language ‘adoption’! 👍🥴

@willrobertsmith Er, I’m not ‘crazy with rage’, mate, just a little nonplussed at the dude’s presumption. Moreover, let me tell you something; IME, way more French people speak basic English than British people speak French. Yes, that lingua franca thing again, but also a noticeable laziness with Brits when it comes to learning foreign languages. The 2 things go hand in hand!

⁠ @willrobertsmith Dinny be snidey, pal. I’m not ‘raging’. You made a mistake there. Own it. We essentially agree, man. Yes, Frenchies can be lazy with languages but, IM (albeit anecdotal) E, Brits are at least twice as lazy. ✌️
