  7. This should clearly be done on a case by case basis. There are loads of folk who work well into their 60s, 70s and sometimes even their 80s. Senility isn’t just all about old age. I know dozens of 30 year olds who seem about 70 and quite a few 70 year olds who appear about 30. McConnell? No thanks. Biden? No thanks. Trump? No thanks.

Given that there are over 1,000,000 Palestinians aged 18 or under, I think it’s stretching credibility to suggest the majority of Palestinians support Hamas’ aim of wiping Israel from the map. Willing to bet good money that the vast, vast majority of Palestinians would be quite willing to live peacefully side by side with Israel in their own state. Of course, even in these circumstances, groups like Hamas will still exist, no doubt, but a just peace granting the basic dignity and security and freedom that we all aspire to would go a long way to resolving this.

If you look at a temperature graph for the past 2,000 years, beginning at 0°C, the temperature fluctuates between 0.0°C and 0.5°C until about the year 1200. After 1200 it cools slightly to 0.0°C and just below this during the ‘Little Ice Age’ between about 1420 and 1820. From 1820 to today the graph rises dramatically to 1.3°C above the 0.0°C 2,000 years ago. That the planet is warming is incontrovertible. Even anecdotally, those of us old enough to know this know this.

Immigration per se isn’t necessarily the problem - most people I know have no particular problem with strictly controlled legal immigration - it’s Islamic immigration that is the problem for many, including many left of centre voters. As a secular agnostic, I’m constantly amazed at just how carefree western, secular, liberal democracies (particularly Britain, France and Germany) are when it comes to importing an ideology diametrically opposed to liberal democracy. Islam is political (‘Islam is politics or it is nothing.’ ~ Ayatollah Khomeini). It wants control of the reins. At the current rate, the UK is projected to be 17% Islamic in 2 decades. Sweden, astonishingly, is projected to be 30% Islamic. A full third of Swedes will be Muslims. With numbers like that, Europe can expect some interesting times ahead.

My bro, Collin works in a supermarket, and he says there’s mushroom now without the regular fruit and veg. Some people are full of grapes and say all this is spin. Ach, what do they know? Ireland should really be a unified state and would be were it not for the Plantations instigated by the British state. I repeat, there is room on the mainland for discontented Unionists, and unless you are an upholder of aggressive colonisation, these Brits should not be there.

As usual with these things, this whole conflict boils down to the human tribal mentality linked to race/ethnicity (Palestinian v Jew - notwithstanding that both groups are Semitic in that they speak a Semitic language), organised religion (Islam v Judaism) and language (Arabic v Hebrew). 2 of these aforementioned (ethnicity/language - mother tongue) are given to us by accidents of birth; the other (religion) we kind of choose but, that said, the overwhelming majority of those who follow an organised religion follow the one which predominates in the culture in which they are born and raised, so this could be argued to be an accident of birth, too. So, essentially, we commit internecine conflict predicated on 3 accidents of birth. It seems human beings cannot cope with too much difference.
