What? Wtf. Firstly, we don’t know if he’s Muslim. Secondly, a name doesn’t automatically tell you someone’s religion. Thirdly, have you never heard of miscegenation and the idea that people with different ethnic/religious traditions sometimes have children?

Cobblers!
5
I reckon 3 million peanuts could cover the entire Ukraine.
5
*you’re Neither are you. Clearly.
5
@boogerboy2420 Nah. I’m sticking by my original instinct. Cringe.
5
@piscesempress1978 Tbf, all organised religion is a nonsense.
5
@flickthenick Belendtens makes 3 🤡s! 👍😉
5
@lifesbutastumble Who’s to blame? Over-sensitive individuals who seem to think they can impose their over-sensitivity on the rest of us. I think it is the duty of the comedian to find out where the line is drawn and cross it deliberately. (George Carlin) Amen.
5
Less than 0.25% of this planet uses Twitter. Why is this news?
5
@I_Lemaire Don’t be silly. If you transposed this scene to Jerusalem after a Hezbollah attack there and had a Jewish mother saying her exact words: “Nothing will shake us. Even if you blow us up. We are steadfast in our path and will not change.” You would say nothing in this scenario. Why? You’ve taken sides. Some of us can see both sides sometimes.
5
@billbogg3857 You omit to mention that the Little Ice Age was most likely largely caused by massive volcanic activity.
5
I ordered a korma.
5
@RobbyO-p5p No he isn’t. He’s actually in Allan’s snack bar.
5
@SK-vg3mw My life is fine, sweetheart. I just had in my head that Sunak was one of these dudes with a full head of hair until death. It seems I was wrong.✌️
5
@martinrye712 I don’t understand what you are getting at? What has my name got to do with anything here?
5
Yeah, but yer not called ‘Steve’.
5
@WOTArtyNoobs Ok. We got there. You attribute the current warming to solar power. We can agree to disagree. I’m going with the manmade (mostly) fossil fuel emissions idea. 👍
5
@davidhynes 🤦♂️

This only happened after he started speaking out against mainstream narratives. That’s a bit tenuous. If you look at his YouTube channel, Brand’s being doing this for a good decade. I just checked it and a full 10 years ago he was posting stuff with titles like: Is Climate Change A Hoax? Is Immigration To Blame? How Do The Media Scare Us? So at this point, Brand’s been questioning mainstream narratives for years.
5
Not if the Scots have anything to do with it.
5
@Primal Fish Muhahahahaha!
5
Regardless of whether NATO creep ‘provoked’ the Russian invasion, bottom line for me has always been I’d rather live in any NATO country you care to mention than Putin’s Russia.
5
@saberint Before this war started I knew nothing about the cities of Ukraine beyond a cursory knowledge of Kyiv. Having researched a bit more Lviv looks like the diamond in Ukraine’s tiara; a kind of Ukrainian Krakow in terms of pulchritude. Please God (if you are there) spare this city. Odesa looks like it’s a lovely, lively open port city … and it looks like it’s about to be wiped from the map. Tragic.
5
@HK-vy3fh Huh? Not sure wtf you’re on about, m8. I know several atheist Jews but I know no atheist Muslims. In other words, Islam, as a religion, is a choice. If you’re born a Jew in an ethnic sense (however you want to define that genetically), there is no choice involved, but you’re not born ‘Islamic’ in the same way you can be born ‘Jewish’.
5
‘Join the Army; travel to exotic, distant lands; meet exciting, unusual people and kill them.’
5
@burlhorse61 Er, no it’s not. It’s the human party in a nutshell. Why are you denying that all of us (unless we are Jesus) have tribal snobby thoughts about others on a regular basis? 🤔
5
@factsdontcareaboutyourfeel7204 Yeah, but one of the problems with your idea is why is it that those people bang on about ‘indigenousness’ are, almost without exception, the last kind of people I would want to be ‘indigenous’ with? 🤔
5
There is no Allah. Get over it. Move on. This is so boring now.
5
If they are genuine refugees, yes. If they are economic migrants, then it should be 100% up to the intaking country to decide.
5
@0:50 Zelensky looks like a naughty schoolboy who’s been hauled into the headmaster’s office to have a ‘quiet chat’ with him and the deputy head about smoking in the boys’ toilets. Or in Zelensky’s case, perhaps indulging in a little nose candy. 😳
5
No. Key words since the beginning of this nonsense thousands of years ago: organised religion.
5
@unworthy42 *whom
5
I’m willing to bet all I have, this is more than partly to do with Sunak’s parents immigrating in the 1960s. That sounds a bit racist, but it’s not meant to be. It’s just history. Sunak and his parents particularly just aren’t as invested in D-Day as your average Brit with lineage going back decades/centuries would be. I suppose what I’m saying is that I kind of understand Sunak here. If anything, he’s being brutally honest. D-Day commemorations just aren’t as high on his radar given who he is and where he has come from.
5
@HaveanOreshnik Lol. So why did you ‘categorise’ it by emphasising mother? 😬

Peace talks in a fantasy world Putin: “I want Ukraine neutralised and committed to not seeking NATO membership.” Ukraine: “Ok, we want Russia to de-nuclearise and committed to not militarising the Russia/Ukraine border.” Putin: “I want Ukraine disarmed to ensure no threat to Russia.” Ukraine: “We want Russia disarmed to ensure no threat to Ukraine (or anyone else)” Putin: “I want protection for the Russian language in Ukraine.” Ukraine: “We want protection for the Ukrainian language in eastern Ukraine.” Putin: “I want the deNazification of Ukraine.” Ukraine: “We want Russia to emerge from communist dictatorship and come into the light of free, liberal democracies.” Putin: “I want Crimea formally identified as Russian along with other parts of east Ukraine including the Donbas.” Ukraine: “We want Moscow and St Petersburg to be recognised as free Ukrainian cities.” Peace talks in the real world Putin: Putin: “I want Ukraine neutralised and committed to not seeking NATO membership.” Ukraine: “Done.” Putin: “I want Ukraine disarmed to ensure no threat to Russia.” Ukraine: “Done.” Putin: “I want protection for the Russian language in Ukraine.” Ukraine: “Done” Putin: “I want the deNazification of Ukraine.” Ukraine: “Done.” Putin: “I want Crimea formally identified as Russian along with other parts of east Ukraine including the Donbas.” Ukraine: “Done.” Moral of story: Sometimes bullies just get a little of what they want, but never mess with someone by pitching up at their home expecting to take it forcibly, for as Dustin Hoffman going apeshit in Strawdogs has shown: you are unlikely to win.

2nd Amendment.
5
@-GS- Huh? Did you read the dude’s OP? You seem a little dim. Get with the gig.
5
@-GS- Uh huh. So tell me why he ‘didn’t see a single British person there’? If he were blind, he wouldn’t be able to discern. He made the comment because he saw lots of non-white skin and couldn’t cope. Yet, he’s a white African in a mainly non-white continent. As I said, his hypocrisy is off the charts.
5
Aye, Jimbo, you took my advice with your single (semi) amusing YouTube comment!🤣 Don’t over do it, though, son. Posting the same thing for the 50th time just isn’t cricket old boy!
5
I get so bored with the polarised, political, tribal extremes of this debate with the alarmist Greta gang (of which Okri seems to be remarkably in tune with here) facing off against the conservative manmade global warming deniers. I’m no lefty eco-warrior; nor am I a right-wing conservative. I’m just someone who dispassionately looks at the evidence and considers what’s what. In this case, I have done that. I believe the planet is warming. I believe it is warming quite alarmingly rapidly in historical terms. I believe humankind is contributing (at least in part) to this warming through fossil fuel burning. The end.
5
Sometimes it really is just a case of who is better for the job.
5
@oscarmason8904 Lol. You speak like France, Italy, Germany and Spain (to name 4 neighbours), don’t take in refugees.
5
@cropcircles5697 Again, you also are missing my point, which is, among a large tranche of the UK population there would be uproar if Rwanda were sending its migrants here.
5
@Pining_for_the_fjords Never said it “excused” it; said it partly explains it.
5
@rpatel3935 To even suggest belendtens has a mind is stretching it somewhat.
5
@GiantSandles Can you imagine if the late Princess Di had married the guitar noodler, Chris Rea? She’d had have to change her name to Di Rea! 💩 🙃
5
@TheJewishAzovMember No offence, but I’m not a child. Moreover, I have a decent command of the possessive apostrophe. 👍
5
@TheJewishAzovMember Huh? I’m not Palestinian, son. Nice try, though. Keep getting it wrong.👍
5
Ahem. Try telling Cathy Newman or Krishnan Guru-Murthy that they are ‘respected’, for if you believe certain misogynistic, racist commentaries on here, they are anything but.🤔
