Comments by "" (@titteryenot4524) on "Could China help Russia in Ukraine?" video.
For me, so far the Russians seem to have been fighting with medieval weaponry; they have the arsenal to step it up as and when they please (chemical, biological, nuclear), so I would be quite surprised they’d be leaning on China for military support at this relatively early stage. Does make you think, though: if this war were to be guaranteed to be limited to conventional weapons (an impossibility, of course), then NATO/USA could probably quite literally take Russia out in a day or two. Now if only we clever humans hadn’t been so bright as to invent something as dastardly as the nuclear bomb … 🤔

@z6445 Er, not sure about that one, mate. You never heard of the Battle of Britain or D-Day?
59
@z6445 Man, you need to realise that NATO/US firepower, leaving aside the nuclear options, is about 10-20 times greater than that of Russia’s.

@Thinkforyourselves64 Doubt it. Baltic states, perhaps, which will draw US in, but I imagine the last thing Putin wants is a direct military confrontation with NATO/US. However, my instinct tells me NATO/US will be drawn into this at some point. It almost feels ‘destined’ to happen in some way.

@z6445 A life is a life is a life, as far as I’m concerned.

@gustavo5989 I’m not American. And, no, I don’t see the USA as a ‘hero’ country. I see it as a country with much historical blood on its hands. However, this doesn’t excuse Putin one iota. Two wrongs don’t make a right.

@gustavo5989 NATO is needed for countries nearest to dictators like Putin. Remember, NATO is a voluntary membership organisation, not a ‘drag you kicking and screaming and if you refuse I kill you’ organisation. NATO obviously isn’t perfect but I, personally, fear a Putin-led Russia more than I do NATO.

@irnera Yeah, but what’s it got to do with Putin if Ukraine is a fascist-run state? Huh? None of his fucking business as far as I can see. If those in East Ukraine look to Russia then Ukraine should have a partition referendum if they cannot co-exist as a single Ukraine. Save the rest of us a lot of bother.

@lizbehrakis Yes, the danger is that this is a game of poker with nuclear weapons. Does the West call Putin’s bluff? This is a tricky one, as although I in no way think he is conventionally ‘mad’, I do think he has been nursing revenge fantasies since about 1989. Remember, this was the man who said the dissolution of the USSR was the ‘greatest geopolitical tragedy of the 20th century’. I don’t think he was kidding when he said that. We are dealing with a man who is still stung as if spurned and abandoned by a former lover and he has come back to knock on her door and claim her violently against her majority will.

@Jade-om7ie It’s all very worrying.

@1salahudin America is the world’s greatest meddler in other countries’ internal affairs, either directly militarily or from within by proxy and the subversion of democratically-elected governments. However, all this notwithstanding, this doesn’t justify a single thing Putin is doing in Ukraine. Two wrongs don’t make a right.

@z6445 Wrong again. You’re not very good at this, are you? First you say that Britain did nothing in WW2 and now you are saying there is no such thing as Ukrainians. Er, well, I hate to tell you this buddy but at least 30,000,000 Ukrainians would beg to differ with you on that one. Possibly more. You must invest in some better history books, son. Try a few impartial ones that don’t tell the story you want to be told.

@---------c5741 You’re mistaken if you think China and Russia are very close. They are simply a marriage of convenience, and when it’s purely Russia’s self-interests on the line or purely China’s self-interests on the line do you really think they are going to be as thick as thieves? As far as I see, China and Russia have precisely nothing in common aside from being Communist one-party dictatorships. When push comes to shove, that’s precisely one too many, and they’d eat each other alive for their own national self-interest.

@Robin Vyas Andorra doesn’t.
1
@live_monkey2485 I agree, to a large extent.
1
@Robin Vyas Andorra, I would suggest does count, as last time I checked they invaded nobody.

@o0xTHEcoPlayerx0o I’m not American. I didn’t delete anything. Russia is a tenth rate military built on a tenth rate economy. That’s just a fact.
