  1. @5:52 If you’re using the lack of youth clubs argument in the fight against youth crime, then you’re at the thin end of the wedge. You’re almost saying: lack of youth club = knife crime. If you’re going down that road, we can just about justify anything another human being does: “They stabbed someone.” “Yeah, man, lack of youth clubs.” No. It’s not ‘lack of youth clubs’; it’s just a lack of basic humanity; and that’s mostly down to those raising the stabbers.

  3.  @MRLX54  Get real, m8. I’m no saint. Been involved with the law; but even I know that sticking a knife into another human being is a bit extreme. Why are are you defending this? Jesus Christ. l was idle my whole childhood, but I wasn’t so idle I picked up a knife and stabbed someone. This is bizarre. I don’t care what your upbringing is (unless you are a certified psychopath); you shouldn’t be sticking knives into other human beings.

If you are defending this (leaving aside psychopathy), then that’s your prerogative. My essential point here is this: even the most ‘delinquent’ kids I knew wouldn’t have dreamt have sticking a knife into another human being. If you’re defending this, fine. I’m not. It doesn’t work. It’s too easy.
