I feel sorry for folks losing their houses/belongings, naturally. And, of course, those who lost their lives. But let’s face it, this is LA, hardly the most beautiful city in the world. Not even up there in American terms. It can be rebuilt and nothing particularly disastrous has been lost in aesthetic terms. This would’ve been catastrophic and culturally disastrous if say, Toledo, or Paris, or Venice, or Edinburgh had been burned down. That stuff is irreplaceable.

@elizabethpeterson455 Nah, darlin’, this is Old World stuff. I’m here to tell you that North America (with the exception of Mexico) tends to have drab, hideous-looking cities. Toledo, Spain, my love. Yvw. 👍
