Prison should be hard. It should be punishment first and foremost. If I did wrong as a child, my parents punished me. They then explained how it might go better if you do this or this. The problem in the UK is there’s too little emphasis on rehabilitation. If you imprison people and do 0 to rehabilitate them then it’s just a revolving door. The biggest mistake we are making with our justice system is not placing nearly enough emphasis on rehabilitation.

@SadBoysCollectiveCirca96 Sorry? How does any of that invalidate my OP? Yah. It doesn’t. I simply said that the UK doesn’t place nearly enough emphasis on rehabilitation in its justice system. I didn’t say it was gonna be the panacea for all criminal ills. I just suggested it would help. Massively. Cope better. 👍
