Here’s the thing: because there are very few real Christians left in the UK in a purely religious sense and most of the Muslims I’m aware of in the UK are very much Muslims in a religious sense that British ‘Christians’ lack, this has caused this rumpus. If Christians were as overt and strong in their beliefs as Muslims are, then there would be no real issue here and freedom of worship would dictate you can worship any God or no God. To me, this is a clear example of prejudice against Islam. Full disclosure: I’m agnostic and consider all organised religion manmade baloney that has, historically, caused humanity far more trouble than it hasn’t.
