  2.  @georgeorwell-il2wz  What’s ‘rehabilitation’ got to do with anything here? This should surely be about justice for a given victim’s family and if a given family asks that the defendant be in court for sentencing, there is a strong case to be made they should be there.

  3. I would do this on a case by case basis at the behest of the victim’s family. If they want the defendant to attend sentencing, it should happen. If not, it shouldn’t. In practice, the vast majority of victims’ families will probably want the defendant physically present in court. Could (and probably will) cause problems in terms of a highly resistant defendant causing ructions, but hey, who said life was simple! ⚖️
