Weird game. For first 20 minutes England looked like the tournament winners. For the next 70 they looked distinctly average and could quite easily have drawn that game, or worse.

Comment makes no sense. If England lose next game, they can still qualify with a draw in the final game. 🥴

@willclouded K, it was slight hyperbole, but they looked pretty decent… until they didn’t, which was for most of the match.

@davidjames3787 It was a slight exaggeration. England looked in total control was what I meant. Until it all fell apart for the last hour. The weak link here is Southgate. I’m convinced of this. His defensive tactics and defensive mentality (understandable, given his own background) will be the main reason if England don’t win this thing. I don’t think he can get it over the line. The other thing is the Harry Kane thing. He’s 30. Never won anything. Could he be a jinx?

Yes. When he plays in a forward position he can be a right Juke in the box! 👍

@seanolusina6058 It’s to do with general antipathy to mass immigration in a large and growing cohort of Brits (and Europeans, more generally). The recent massive swings to the right in the European elections are a sign of the times and a sign of the interesting times to come.

@Unholygamewinner I said for 20 minutes England looked as good as anyone we’ve seen so far. The thing is, Germany did it for 90 minutes against Scotland, not 20.
