Let it never be forgotten that in all the talk of brutality around the world in terms of war, it is America and America only who has used these barbaric atomic weapons in anger. And what makes their hideous crime against humanity even more egregious? They didn’t have to! RIP.

@feelsbradman6793 General Eisenhower is on record as saying that is wasn’t necessary to use the bomb as Japan had been largely ground down and defeated by then. He said it was “no longer mandatory as a measure to save American lives." When the war was over he also said: “It wasn't necessary to hit them with that awful thing." Nice try, though. 👍
