I hate to say this, and I say it having never voted Tory, but when they are replaced by Labour, I’ve been around long enough to know it won’t be long before folks will be getting impatient with them and so the pendulum will swing once again. As mentioned, I’m no fan of the Tories, but Labour doesn’t do that much for me either. No, this whole thing is bigger than tribal party politics: it’s a crisis of democracy. Why is it that we essentially just have 2 choices every time we go to vote? For some it’s a Hobson’s Choice; 2 sides of the same coin. The voting system needs a radical overhaul. When I go to the supermarket, I don’t expect just a choice between bread or slightly staler bread.
