  1. If he’s elected by his party, fine. That’s democracy. But how a man with a £730 million personal fortune can have any real insight into the lived lives of Joe and Jill Bloggs is a bit baffling. Not only that, he openly admits he ‘doesn’t have working-class friends’. Doesn’t bode well for Tory chances at the next GE.

  2. 42. Sunak is 42. He may not be the answer to life, the Universe and everything, but he is 42. This is powerful. Everyone’s lives go in multiples of 7. 42 is particularly powerful. Things, good and bad, happen at multiples of 7. It’s ineluctable. Just glad I put a tenner on Sunak becoming PM at more or less this point: it’s about to pay me £1,000!
