What amazed me most about this story is how (as someone with mild claustrophobia who is in a slight panic every time I step into an elevator) people can not only agree to be bolted into what is essentially a tiny cabin, but to then descend 3,800m under the sea with all the obvious danger that entails. It’s similar going up, too; I’m in awe of those astronauts who strap themselves into a rocket to spend 6 months at a Space Station where at any moment, something catastrophic could go wrong. RIP.
