  1. This was won ‘ugly’. But in every tournament, the eventual winners need an ugly win. Not saying England will win it (see Japan), but for sheer grit and will to win when they were played off the park by the Nigerians, kudos.👍

  2. Difference is, Nigeria didn’t colonise whitey countries. If Britain had only had the decency to colonise only whitey places, the England team (men’s) would be a little less mixed. However, the real point is what’s wrong with a racially mixed national team?
