Much like ethnic Russians in eastern Ukraine who were fairly happily co-existing with non-Russian ethnic Ukrainians in a sovereign Ukraine before Putin’s mucky paws entered the fray; I’ve never quite understood (beyond the nonsense of organised religion and all the made-up tribal Catholic/Protestant baloney) just why Ireland can’t be one country; a bit like Belgium, say, where the Walloons and Flemish seem to be able to rub along together. After all, I’m sure the UK mainland would be more than willing to accept the Unionist malcontents (that were artificially ‘planted’ there by the British state) for whom a united Ireland would be anathema. Surely, it’s time to right the stark injustice that was done to the island of Ireland back in the day, and let it become what it clearly should be (without British meddling): one united country.

@robtyman4281 Of course it’s complicated. My point is two-fold: 1. The British state is largely complicit with the plantations. 2. The sooner we, as a species, dispense with organised religion, the better for all.
