  1. Commonwealth led by a non-Royal? Sounds about right. As with those arguments for the existence of a deity whereby no one believes in Zeus, or Odin, or Osiris anymore and have gone that step further and followed the logic where it leads and ditched all primitive ideas of God(s); the surely if Wills is arguing that the Commonwealth can do without Monarchy, then why can’t the UK itself? This is surely the direction of travel and I reckon within about 100 years we shall, along with the French and the Americans amongst others, consigned the primitive idea of inherited, unearned privilege to the dustbin of history.
