In 1500, there were over 25 million elephants in Africa. By 1900 this had fallen to around 10 million, and by 1979 it was down to 1.3 million. There was a rapid decline in population size over the 1970s and 1980s such that by the mid-1990s numbers had fallen below 300,000. So, tell me, who exactly is the problem here: the elephant or the human? 🤔

 @daggerwrld. Lie. Of the five nations where elephants live, the survey found that Botswana with 131,909 has the largest elephant population, followed by Zimbabwe, which has 65,028. (Source: Japan Times) Nice try, though. 👍
