  1. Nice is more than nice. Yeah, it’s crammed with trippers tripping over other trippers; a lot of the non-Vieille Ville architecture isn’t floating anyone’s boat; heck, even the famed Promenade des Anglais can seem a drag of a main drag if you’re not in the mood. But in toto, and laying aside your preconceived notions, you’ll be charmed by a gorgeous Italianate Old Town; wooed by the winning weather; seduced by the seemingly preternaturally cerulean sea; hell, even the locals seem ok, for a tourist town. Just don’t mention the beach.
