Still don't know why that helicopter went to the higher altitude, miscommunications/misunderstanding between it and the tower, seeing the wrong airplane, following instructions, or just a plain mistake on her part. Night time and lots of lights, do you see the plane up ahead which actually means, do you see the moving light, was she focused on the correct lights, did she misread some warning signal,.. Still early in the investigation and she can't tell us what she was doing.

  2.  @Flyingtaco82  Air traffic control should have been monitoring and anticipating, two hundred feet separation is extremely close and that is what it would have been had the helicopter stayed at 200 feet. FAA definition of "Near Miss" is any aircraft withing 500 feet of each other.
