KeviBx George Zimmerman was on his way to the store when he saw Trayvon walking near the houses looking in the windows of a house that had been broken into recently. George drove past and parked at the clubhouse while he called the non emergency number. Trayvon saw George sitting in his truck watching him and talking on the phone. Trayvon walked past George and down Twin Tree Lane. George lost sight of him and drove down Twin Tree Lane and parked at the cut through. Trayvon walked towards George's truck while they stared at each other. Trayvon ran and George got out of his truck and tried to follow in the direction that Trayvon ran for about 15 seconds, until the dispatcher advised him to not follow. George walked east to the next street as he talked to the dispatcher for about another minute and a half. Trayvon was talking to his girlfriend on the phone when he ran and the call got disconnected. Trayvon's girlfriend called him back and Trayvon told her that he had lost the guy and that he was at his daddy's fiancee's house in the back. This was about 150 yards from where he had last seen George Zimmerman sitting in his truck. It was also about 100 yards south of where trayvon would eventually confront George Zimmerman. This was at 7:12.06, according to the phone records, almost 5 minutes before Trayvon was shot and killed.
Trayvon lost George and made it home safe. Did he go inside the house? No, Trayvon decided to go back and find George Zimmerman. Trayvon walked back 100 yards in the dark and the rain to find George Zimmerman. According to Trayvon's girlfriend, Trayvon confronted George.
Trayvon Then sucker punched George breaking his nose. Trayvon eventually tackled George and straddled him MMA style. George took a beating for over a minute while yelling for help and no help came.
John Good witnessed part of the beating and testified that Trayvon was on top and George was on the bottom yelling for help. John told them to stop, that he was calling the police, but Trayvon wouldn't stop.
Trayvon was banging George's head against the concrete and hitting him in the face. As George was struggling to get loose his jacket rose up revealing the gun. George thought that Trayvon was going to get it so he blocked Trayvon's arm and grabbed his gun and shot once in Trayvon's chest killing him in self defense.
Detective Chris Serino, who was the lead detective, stated that if Trayvon had lived, he would have been charged with felony assault and battery.
According to forensic testimony, George had at least 6 impact wounds on his head, plus a broken nose and 2 black eyes. Trayvon had the gun shot wound and a couple marks on his fists.
