In some sense it is true, but as a Slavic person I can tell you that he also has his own prejudices especially in respect to some other nations, etc. And his understanding of psychology at time is just artificially made... As Tomas Mann once said :"Do not consume Dostojewskiy too much", because mostly he shows the negative side of the soul and sometimes even twist is too much artificially. Though it is not to say that Man is not sinful being in his partial nature... That is the thing: you cannot understand Dostojewskiy, before you know his stand on the Orthodoxy and negative view of the Catholic church, etc.
