Gandhi's vision was as flawed as the man. His economic vision would have killed entrepreneurship and kept India rural. His social policy would have left casteism as an issue to be resolved by the good hearts of the upper caste. Non violence was the only redeeming political legacy he left behind. I think we need a more complete picture of Gandhi.

@neerajkumar-ts6om dude, after the policy was announced, Vandana was touring around Sri Lanka conducting seminars on organic farming. It learnt a lot about agricultural industry conspiracies. It's all on YouTube - I'm not even kidding.

@saurabhkumarsingh9556 when you understanding of basic economics is non existent then you buy into the trusteeship model propaganda. Gandhi's economic philosophy was deliberately small in scale with no growth. He was against economics of scale, against machinery and voiced strong distrust towards economic units that employed more than 10 people. It was a pipedream of micro self sufficiency which was neither practical nor grounded in reality. It is essentially a non violent version of Trotsky or Pol Pot.

@HK-od6fh it's always been there. If you look beyond 2014, you will notice the politics of hate was on different set of criteria - namely caste. The previous Govt led by Congress, cynically thought they could malign the Hindu community to distract attention away from it's numerous scams, and ended up uniting the community divided by caste. (They always relied on Muslim + Caste + Urban Hindu combination to come to power). The Congress party invariably reminded people of their naked appeasement of the late 80s.

@tojojosephcherivuparambhil4758 that is an extremely one sided view of Gandhi. The guy is a flawed man, he was too tunnel visioned into his own philosophy that he couldn't accept reality. He made plenty of mistakes like the Khilafat movement. Several leader across the religious lines questioning his wisdom regarding that and he went with it. That movement, emboldened Muslim League and the elite Islamic conservatives and bought the ire of the more secular Congress members( and Hindu community).
