  1. Tiktokers are unwittingly helping the Chinese govt improve its facial recognition algorithms and models. TikTok doesn’t need to share data across countries but there’s nothing disallowing them from sharing facial models with its entity in China. To give you a simple analogy, Tiktokers are crude oil, Tiktok is the refinery and Tiktok China is the consumer in buying Refined crude.
