  1. Kaisa logic hai. As if anyone can make a determination if a person is going to abuse the privileges they were given or not before they can employ them. Find me machine that can do that and I will give the wealth of the world. Besides, Govt needs the power to remove them. Right now only the President can fire an IAS officer - Thank the Congress in the 50s for this ridiculous rule.

  2. Yes unfortunately, only the President can fire IAS officers. You can't force an IAS officers to resign either so transfers are the only way to punish them.

  3. They are IAS Officers. They can't be fired, Congress enshrined that in the Constitution in the mid 50s and made their dismissal a Presidential power. Thanks Nehru. If Omar and Mahua knew that then they would have called for IAS reforms.
