@cpatil-vh5bw every govt including US, Canada, UK etc. has failed to control inflation. Govt is not God despite presenting themselves as such. They can't fix a massive disruption in supply chains. But things like waste is something they can tackle. Here's a food for thought: India losses about 40% of it's agricultural commodities to poor storage. So essentially, you're paying 40% of the price of the veggies to make up for those rotting vegetables. This is why I say, the contribution of fuel prices to the cost price of commodities is over exaggerated.

This is over exaggerated. Our commodity prices are driven more by waste and bad logistic Infrastructure than price of fuel. Waste itself contributes a way larger chunk to price rise. For fuel to have similar impact, prices needs to be around be Rs. 300/litre. Services depends on price of electricity rather than fuel. Manufacturing depends on prices of commodities + cost of logistics (think warehouses which we have few and far between).
