  1. Immigration is not the problem. The real problem is pure negligence and incompetence of local and (to a lesser degree) provincial govts. Local govt don't want to issue development permits and are consciously or unconsciously intent to create slums everywhere.

  2.  @grandcentral3007  I'm an immigrant but my partner is a native born. For me it's easy to pack my bags and move to a cheaper location. No problem, I've done it several times. But it pains me to watch my partner who is slowly getting priced out. I can imagine how hard it is for her to internalize that you no longer can live in the place you grew up in. I know that feeling and it is not pleasant.
