  1. Just a nitpick. Govt. and Parliamentary committees are not the same entity. Parliamentary committees have members from the opposition and chairpersons are often from oppositions like this member from the Congress - Anand Sharma.

  2. This isn't the Govt. There's a difference between Govt. and Parliamentary committees. Committees have members from oppositions and often the committee chairperson is from the opposition. They advice the Govt on policy matters and are supposed to scrutinize the Govt's policies. In this case, the chairperson of this committee is from Congress Rajya Sabha member - Anand Sharma.
