Talking about corruption - the best way to tackle corruption in India is by reforming regulations. We have way too many “rent seeking” regulations that enables corruption. While Central govt has made good progress on that front, State govts are dragging on that progress. We need more reforms from State govts.

@Grand-Rose besides farm laws, the rest of what you said would have limited impact on corruption or development. Any further reforms initiated by Centre would fail without State govts initiating similar reforms. Today delays in infrastructure projects are due to long permitting and approval process of States not centre. Permits are not issued unless the State govt Babu who handles the file gets his 20%. Centre can get rid of it’s permitting process but it still won’t improve state govt permitting

@Grand-Rose I’m not saying reforms are the Centre won’t help. I’m saying they impact would be limited. Electricity Ammendment Bill can deliver better outcomes if States also went along with their reforms especially on the permitting and clearance processes. Without States, reforms would be at best deliver uneven outcomes.
