Honestly this is shameful. However along with condemnation, we should demand changes to the process of remission. For every optically controversial case, we judge it to be wrong but we stop short of demanding changes.

I appreciate the Print positions and editorials. I also appreciate drawing the line between reporting and expressing an opinion. Unlike mainstream media, The Print doesn't seem to institutionally prejudge events as they happen.

As if minority appeasement took us to great heights. I think we can definitely do away with the superlatives.

@rutvikrs yup this is the case. This is evident for locals however we have a lot of underreporting in India that these things don't surface.

You can't fault Society for a systemic failure of Governance. And this failure is not limited to one person but it has been building up over decades of neglect, abuse and outright malfeasance. Ideally, it should have not gone to this extent and but it has. We can still deescalate the situation by improving law and order but more importantly the judiciary needs deep reforms. Our judiciary doesn't act on anything until there is some amount of crowd outrage. That needs to change.
